Abstract:The article presents a new study published in the recent issue of "American Journal of Psychiatry" which shows that light therapy is as effective as antidepressants for seasonal affectedness disorder (SAD). Ninety-nine people with SAD were randomly placed into two groups for eight weeks during the winter. The choice of treatment always depends on individual assessment of risk and benefits.
