Abstract:Discusses bacterial vaginosis (BV), the most common cause of vaginal complaints and abnormal vaginal discharge and odor. Shift of the environment of the vagina from a predominance of lactobacilli to a predominance of anaerobes; Degradation of the mucus membrane and shedding of the vaginal epithelium, resulting in a discharge; Monitor of patients during treatment for BV.
