Abstract:The article discusses the role of Vitamin D in controlling autoimmune expression in the body. T-helper cells has important involvement in autoimmunity modulation. Researchers asserted that Vitamin D deficiency leads to over-expression of Th1 cells and under-expression of Th2 cells and T-regs. It shows that Vitamin D can reduce symptoms of experimental inflammatory bowel disease, rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes and multiple sclerosis.
