Abstract:The article reports on the importance of gluten-free diet to prevent celiac disease, a condition in which the lining of the small intestine is damaged when it is exposed to gluten, in the U.S. There are some nutrients that may be limited on a gluten-free diet, which should only be commenced after confirmation of the diagnosis of celiac disease by a doctor. It is stated that following a gluten-free diet is essential in the management of celiac disease.
