Abstract:The article offers information related to the research on the effect of lutein to the age-related macular degeneration. It states that supplementation with lutein, an antioxidant, docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), and omega-3 fatty acid promotes beneficial changes in the eye that help prevents age-related macular degeneration. It also states that DHA and Lutein are important components of the macular pigments and retina, hence, lutein increase macular pigment density in most subject in the research
