Mind-Body Interventions

These are psychological techniques aimed at enhancing the mind's capacity to affect physical function and symptoms. Examples of mind-body interventions include relaxation, (cognitive) behavioral therapies, prayer and meditation, and guided imagery and biofeedback. These are often taught by specialized psychologists, and can be used to address chronic pain disorders. some mind-body interventions that were previously considered alternative are now coming to be considered more conventional--for example, patient-support groups and some other types of psychotherapy.
