Nutritional change is almost mandatory--the chemical additives in most foods can be incredibly destructive to sensitive child. The debate about whether sugar makes children hyperactive continues to age; suffice it to say that sugar should be doled out in moderation and not in great doses. Most ADD children are very sensitive to foods, which means that you should eliminate anything made with artificial flavour and color, chocolate, MSG, preservatives and caffeine (in most sodas).

Get the lead out

It's a good idea to get your physician to do blood and hair tests to rule out lead and aluminum toxicit in your child. In certain studies, higher hair and blood lead levels were found in children with ADD/ADHD and neurological problems.
