Reasons not to eat meat?

Do you eat meat?

We are not here to try and persuade you to eat meat but rather make sure you are getting the nutrients that meat provides.
There are a couple of essential nutrients that meat provides that your body must have… even if you get
them from another source.

Benefit 1*

Since meat contains a large amount of protein, this could be beneficial to the body as the need for protein is an important one for the body. Since protein is said to improve the overall health and well-being of one’s body, there are other benefits such as the repair and building of body tissues as well as the production of antibodies that will protect the body from infections, thus strengthening the immune system as well. Most importantly, since meat contains all the essential amino acids, it definitely ranks as one of the best sources of protein.

Benefit 2

Of the many nutrients that meat contains, it is rich in iron, zinc and selenium. While iron helps in forming hemoglobin that transports oxygen to different parts of your body, zinc helps in tissue formation and metabolism as well as selenium breaks down the fat and chemicals in the body.

Benefit 3

Vitamins are also a big part of the one’s diet, and Vitamin A, B and D are commonly found in meat as well. Not only do these vitamins promote good vision, stronger teeth and bones but it also support the central nervous system thus promoting mental health as well. Another big benefit of eating meat is the maintenance of your skin’s health. So if you choose not to eat meat make sure you replace the following items in your diet:

1. Protein (not from soy as it biomimics estrogen in your body)

2. Iron

3. Zinc

4. Selenium

5. Vitamin A

6. Vitamin B

7. Vitamin D

Why are we talking about meat? Well yesterday this news video showed the first shipments of Japanese beef from the Fukushima area are being sent to the US. Yes, the same Fukushima we have been talking about with all of the radiation. See for yourself

This leaves us 2 recommendations:

1. Buy local meat. You can hunt, ask around at your

local health food store or check this site:

http://www.eatwild.com

2. Supplement. Do not risk eating meat you don't know.

We raise our own animals so I can tell you exactly what is inside my meat. Not everyone has that option.
