What are the basic human emotions? What is the difference between emotions and feelings?

There are 8 basic human emotions, as compiled by Robert Plutchik in 1980. The 8 basic emotions are: Joy, trust, fear, surprise, sadness, disgust, anger, anticipation.

--The opposite of trust is disgust.
--The opposite of fear is anger.
--The opposite of surprise is anticipation.
--The opposite of sadness is joy.
--The opposite of disgust is trust..
--The opposite of anger is fear.
--The opposite of anticipation is surprise.

The difference between emotions and feelings is that feelings are the result of our emotions.

The 8 basic human feelings, resulting from emotions, are: optimism, love, submission, awe, disappointment, remorse, contempt, and aggression.

--Optimism is a feeling resulting from the emotions of anticipation and joy.

--Love is a feeling resulting from the emotions of joy and trust.

--Submission is a feeling resulting from the emotions of trust and fear.

--Awe is feeling a resulting from the emotions of fear and surprise.
--Disappointment is feeling a resulting from the emotions of surprise and sadness.

--Remorse is feeling a resulting from the emotions of sadness and disgust.

--Contempt is feeling a resulting from the emotions of disgust and anger.

--Aggression is feeling a resulting from the emotions of anger and anticipation.
