Career choice in Medicine?

What area should I look to study to work in natural medicine and other pharmaceuticals. I am currently a Chemistry major and psychology minor at University of Delaware.

Become an ND (Naturopathic Doctor) rather than MD (Medical Doctor)

The rewards are greater.

I am convinced that naturopathic medicine is one of the most popular forms of alternative medicine today. It is a system of medicine based on the belief that we can recover from any form of illness through the natural healing ability of our bodies. This science had been in existence several hundreds of years ago. They had been present even before our oldest relative had been born.

The concept of naturopathy treatment, however, is unfamiliar to many of us especially the younger generation who had become used to taking synthetic drugs for treatment of illnesses.

Fortunately, a growing consciousness and appreciation for naturopathy by the public had been notable in recent years.

I am one of the many people who have grown to prefer naturopathy treatment to conventional medicine. One of the primary reasons for this is that unlike pharmaceutical drugs, naturopathic treatment options are safe and generally do not cause adverse effects on the health of patients.

While I believe that naturopathy works, I recommend that patients consult licensed naturopathic doctors for assistance.

Despite being relatively safe as medical interventions, you should not undertake naturopathy treatment without the consent or approval of a reliable naturopathy practitioner.

For a naturopathy treatment plan to work, naturopathic doctors take into account different personal factors like biomechanics, biochemistry, and even emotional predispositions. This is why I highly recommend a consultation with a licensed naturopathic doctor before beginning any treatment plan.

Based on my personal experience, I also had to consult a nutritionist to optimize the results of the customized naturopathy treatment plan that the doctor designed for me. I underwent a battery of physical examinations.

The nutritionist noted my height and weight before she created a specific diet plan for me. The diet plan she designed helped ensure that whatever I ate will maximize the potency of the naturopathy treatment plan prescribed to me.

What I liked best about my naturopathy treatment plan was that it was not difficult to find and purchase the food items included in my diet plan. In fact, the plan included only such common food items like lemon, salt, and even milk.

Aside from being widely available, these are not as expensive as some pharmaceutical drugs. My personal favorite is lemon because I found it very effective in combating cold, cough, and fever.

Combined with naturopathy, it also made my immune system much stronger. Proof of this is the fact that I have never been afflicted with colds in the three months since I started my naturopathy treatment plan.
